Dear Parents and Students-
The new 2020-2021 school year is right around the corner. We are looking forward to having you back in the building, Wyoming's number one commodity, OUR STUDENTS!! We want to assure you that our SMART START group has worked diligently to provide the most up to date decisions and safe practices for our students, staff, and school community.
The start date for students has been pushed from August 25th to August 31st. This allows us to front load PD days for staff training. Our teachers and your students will be learning to use a new platform that is state adopted called Canvas. This will streamline where educational information including assignments, lessons, videos, teacher assistance and so on are posted. The goal is to build out lessons/ units about a month ahead in case of future closures.
Public Health is behind our plan to reopen, but it will take all of us to ensure compliance with the overarching goal of staying open throughout the school year.
We will continue to push out updates via the Apptegy Platform. If you have not yet downloaded the Park6 Apptegy app from the app store please do so. This is the best way to stay up to date on new information. Simply search Cody Public Schools - Park 6 on the app store, be sure to change the settings to allow notifications and select the schools you want to receive notifications from.
We need everyone to be flexible and patient as we continue to assess what changes are prudent and safest for everyone. There are many things to consider but based on information provided to us by our Park County Health Officer, we are confident we can appropriately and safely bring students and staff back into school. Please reach out to us with specific questions and concerns and we will work to get those answered. Following are some of the new protocols directed toward keeping students and staff safe and school open:

Stay well and see you soon,
