U[DATE: The school zone lights are fixed!
As many of you are aware, the flashing lights that designate the school zone for Sunset School are out of sync since the change to daylight savings time. We addressed this with the City of Cody. There are mechanical issues the City is dealing with regarding the lights. The repairs are forthcoming. Please remember, the road in front of Sunset School is still a school zone, drive with caution.
Our Sunset Student Council wanted to bring a little fun to celebrate March. They are hosting a free event next Friday, March 22nd, Dress as Your Teacher Day! We hope your student has fun and joins in on the festivities!

Today, February 22, is Bus Driver Appreciation Day! Thank you to all our Park 6 bus drivers for getting us to and from school safely!
Didn't get a chance to get to the Sunset Book Fair, never fear! The online store is open for the next two weeks and for any items bought online the school earns 25%. Thanks!

Thank you very much to our amazing Sunset PTO. This week was packed with many events, parent teacher conferences, book fair, carnival, and PTO Sweetheart Breakfast. PTO was a big part of a successful week, providing dinners both nights for teachers during conferences, staffing the book fair, and hosting, preparing, and serving at the pancake breakfast! Thank you so much for ALL you do for our school, our students and out staff. We couldn't do it without you!
The 2nd & 3rd grade music program Arf! will be performed Thursday, Feb. 22, 6:30 pm at the Wynona Thompson Auditorium. Miss Pinney sent home a sheet of paper with costume information. Just a reminder that students singing on risers along with the dog cast of characters are to dress in nice performance clothes.
All students with speaking parts will need to be at the High School Auditorium by 6 pm for makeup. Miss Pinney will have their dog ears and dog tails.
Sunset families, a reminder there is no school Monday and Tuesday, February 19 and 20th!
Random Acts of Kindness Week is February 11-17. To celebrate, Mrs. Baumstarck created a “Be Silly, Be Honest, Be Kind” poster challenge! There are suggested tasks on the poster that students accomplish. Once they completed an act of kindness, honesty, or silliness Mrs. Baumstarck will give them a sticker to put on the poster. Students can do as many challenges as they want!
Sunset families, while you are at your student's parent teacher conferences ether February 13 or 15, take some time with your family and stop in at our Family Night Carnival!
Sunset families, parent teacher conferences are coming up February 13 and February 15. Please keep the conference schedule you set with your student's teacher. These meetings are animportant part of your students's education.
Sunset families, just a reminder that dental screenings by Drs. Jeremy and Jaime Hill of Hill Dentistry are this Monday, February 12. Please read below for more information.
