During the 2020-21 school year the district had numerous COVID protocols in place. One of which was not allowing students to share school supplies. In order to minimize the sharing of supplies, Sunset Elementary School purchased 60 pencil pouches from Amazon. The district was notified this week that Amazon is recalling the Blue Summit Supplies Pencil Pouch. These pencil pouches came in assorted colors and are made from cloth and mesh, they have two zippers, and have the capability to be placed in a 3-ring binder (See the picture above).
Amazon is recalling these pencil pouches because they "may exceed the federal limits for lead and/or cadmium or contain a defect that presents a substantial product hazard." If you have a pencil pouch that resembles the one in the picture, please dispose of it. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
